Finnish Linen Tapestry

$1,950

Circa 1960's, Hämeenlinna, Finland. Pattern attributed to Pirkko Koskimo, woven at the historic Wetterhoff House (est. 1885), one of Finland’s most significant centers for textile education and craft production. Atmospheric composition: grid of oxidized olive green spheres set within a softly heathered silt ground. Woven in soft tow linen with a finely ribbed texture and dry, tactile hand. Woven in soft, downy tow linen. Hand-hemmed at both ends with narrow finished edges. Condition is excellent, with no visible wear, distortion, or fade. A quietly striking and refined wall textile.
