Large Antique Hooked Rug - 4'5" x 7'5"

c. 1890-1920, United States. Highly geometric graphic design in varied palette of earthy browns, rust, muted rose, ochre, and coal. Each square holds its own arrangement of nested forms and stripes, creating a larger pattern that is rhythmic but not uniform. Wool on burlap ground, very flat and heavy. Pieces so large are typically not found in such nice condition. Capable rug, able to withstand traffic.
