Antique Welsh Quilt

c. 1880-1890. A controlled and ordered arrangement of simple, graphic shapes. Warm lupine, vermillion, coffee, and black cotton sateen face with wide banded wool backing. Wool blanket or another quilt as batting - finished with scattered and organic ornamental stitching. Exceptional and rare.
